Understanding MoneyUnderstanding Money

Our experience tells us that investing is like a game of snakes and ladders. Some days you will win, some days you will lose, you can lose big and you can win big, just like the childhood game you can get to square 92 of 100 and hit a snake and drop all the way back down again to number 5.

So why is this? We believe that investment companies have not been transparent in where their funds are invested. Sometimes with misleading fund names it is all too easy to misinterpret what asset classes are in them and where the money is invested geographically.

By using The MoneyLabel™ we provide the opportunity to look deeper into your investments and make an informed judgement as to whether that fund if for you.

Inspired by sausages!

The idea for The MoneyLabel™ was inspired from food labelling, as all food in the UK is regulated by the Food Standards Agency.

The Food Standard Agency created the concept of the food label, clearly informing you what is inside the food, what it's made of and important heath data such as calorie counts, salt intake and various fat counts.

This means that you can make an informed decision about the food you purchase, what you cook and what you eat.

Food labelling has helped the food industry to be more professional, safer and most importantly healthier. By using The MoneyLabel™ concept in line with The RiskLadder™ we will show you how to reduce the number of "snakes - on the game board" that you come across when investing.

Why use this website:

  1. sausages It will help you to understand risk

  2. It will help you understand where your money is invested

  3. It can help you make informed choices about how and where to invest

This website is impartial, we do not give advice, we simply provide you with fact sheets to help you make the right decisions. Just like a food label, however, this time ensuring that your money stays healthy.

All we require is the type of investment, the name of the investment fund, the amount of units and approximate value and we can provide a breakdown of your investments which will give you an insight as to what asset classes are actually making up your portfolio. We firmly beleieve that being clear with money is the key to wise investment choices.

I would urge you to complete The RiskLadder™ Questionnaire, so that you can establish your level of risk to see if the funds that you are invested in are appropriate for you.

To give any financial advice an adviser needs to know as much as possible about your needs, your goals and your attitudes to risk and tolerance to loss. This is why we have developed these powerful financial tools to assist you in managing your investments and confirming that your attitude to risk is the same now as it was when you first invested, say, 10 years ago!

Enjoy this website and please provide feedback to allow our community to grow, to create a fairer and a more transparent system, when it comes to the most important part of your finances, which is where your money is invested.
